On the 14th February, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, passionately advocated for urgent action to address the existential threat posed by perennial erosion along the banks of the River Niger in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The house unanimously adopted Hon. Ezechi's motion, which called upon the Federal Government, specifically the Ecological Project Office, to prioritize the swift construction of shoreline protection measures for these communities. Additionally, the motion urged collaboration between the Federal Ministries of Environment and Niger Delta Affairs to address the erosion crisis through dredging the River Niger and sand filling the affected communities.
