On 16th October 2024, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, presented a crucial motion before the House of Representatives, emphasizing the need to address the growing erosion threat to the Old Sapele/Agbor Road, specifically at the Obinomba, Obiaruku, and Umukwata Kingdom sections in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.

In his motion, Hon. Ezechi highlighted that the Old Sapele/Agbor Road serves as a vital artery for transportation, connecting several towns and driving economic activity across the region. However, the road has deteriorated over the years, exacerbated by erosional forces, which has damaged critical portions of the road, endangering road users and putting nearby properties and infrastructure at serious risk.

The House resolved to urge the Federal Ministry of Works and FERMA to conduct an immediate technical assessment of the erosion situation along the Old Sapele/Agbor Road, and to mandate the Committees on Works and FERMA to ensure that the necessary provisions for erosion control and rehabilitation are included in the 2025 budget estimates.
