On the 20th July, 2024, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Member Representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, in partnership with the National Biotechnology Development Agency, distributed laptops to several secondary and primary schools within the Ndokwa/Ukwuani federal constituency. According to Hon. Ezechi, the initiative aims to foster and support digital literacy in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.
He noted that proficiency with technology is essential for students' academic success and future career prospects. By equipping young learners with these tools, the initiative enhances their educational experience and prepares them to compete in a global economy that increasingly relies on digital skills.
The laptops were handed over to the heads of the respective schools, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to develop their technological competencies.
The event, which commenced with a brief training session, was held at Spring Bay Hotel, Kwale. The training provided educators with the necessary guidance to integrate these new tools effectively into their teaching practices.
Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi emphasized his commitment to this initiative and to the broader goal of improving educational outcomes in communities within Ndokwa/Ukwuani. By investing in students' digital literacy, he is laying the foundation for a brighter, more innovative future. He pledges to uphold this initiative and extend it to more schools subsequently.
Also present at the event were Hon. Vincent Osilonya, Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Council; Hon. Cecilia Ekpo, Vice Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Council; Comr. Ozegbe Adoh; Hon. Okwuwa Ezechi; Chief Ogbuji Okonye, Hon Prince Onuah, Comr. Nzete Anslem, Hon. Moses Chukwuwendu, who all officially presented the laptops to the various beneficiary school heads.
