On 5th October, 2024, Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Member Representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, concluded a three-day skill acquisition training program at the Umutu Skill Acquisition Centre by providing a cash grant of over N100,000 to each of the 100 participants. The initiative, which started on 3rd October, aimed to empower youths and women in the constituency with practical skills in areas such as confectionery, soap making, and ICT, for which the beneficiaries received certificates of participation.
At the closing ceremony, Hon. Ezechi was accompanied by notable leaders, including Hon. Surv. Azuka Enebeli and Dr. Charles Olisa, DESOPADEC commissioners representing the Ndokwa ethnic nationality, as well as Comr. Anslem Nzete, Comr. Henry Emeli, and Hon. Solomon Osakwe, PDP local government chairmen for Ndokwa West, Ndokwa East, and Ukwuani, respectively, Comr. Osakwe Chukwuka, President General of Ndokwa West Community Youths, Comr. Fidelis Azaka (Agwocha), President General of Ukwuani Community Youths and many others.
In his remarks, Hon. Ezechi expressed his commitment to fostering economic growth in the constituency through skill development. He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the N100,000 cash grants provided to them, advising them to invest in their new skills and build sustainable businesses.
The ceremony marked a significant step in the ongoing efforts to uplift and empower the people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani through targeted interventions that promote self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
