On 20th November, 2024, during plenary, the House of Representatives considered the report of the Committee on Health Institutions on a bill for an Act to amend the Federal Medical Centres Act to establish the Federal Medical Centre, Kwale, Delta State, and for related matters (HB. 680).
This bill, sponsored by Rt. Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, had previously passed its second reading on the 7th of November, 2023. Following the Committee's report, the proposed Federal Medical Centre in Kwale has received a favourable recommendation, advancing its establishment process. The bill now awaits its third reading for complete passage by the green chambers.
Additionally, Rt. Hon. Ezechi presented two new bills for their first readings:
1. A bill for an Act to establish the National Institute for Construction Technology and Management, Ezionum, Ukwuani LGA, Delta State (HB. 1332).
2. A bill for an Act to establish the Federal College of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Ossissa, Ndokwa East LGA, Delta State (HB. 1333).
These legislative initiatives underscore Hon. Ezechi's commitment to driving development in healthcare, education, and skills acquisition for the benefit of the constituency, Delta State, and Nigeria at large.
